Threadleaf Japanese Maple

Koto no ito means "Harp Strings" and refers to the long, threadlike leaves of this tree. The leaves are pale to medium green in the spring, darkening slightly in the summer and then turning golden yellow in the fall. Growth is upright to about 9 feet. Nice specimen tree.

Though it is not related to the gooseberry, the Kiwi is a berry and produced on a woody, deciduous vine. Whilst the female plants bear fruit, male plants are needed as a source of pollen in order for the females to produce. Exceptionally rich in vitamin C, the Kiwi's remarkably long ripening period (2 months) enables the fruit to store for long periods of time. Native to Southern Africa, these strong-growing perennials are popular for their fine foliage and showy flowers produced in late summer. They are ideal for edging along a wall, driveway, or fence and make splendid pot plants. Agapanthus can thrive in conditions of neglect, on sites such as dry slopes and near the coast. They enjoy full sun but will tolerate shade and will thrive in just about any soil as long as they are watered in the spring and in the summer. They naturalize readily, soon forming large clumps. This is the premium dwarf cultivar, Peter Pan, which grows to about a foot in height. It is very reliable, exceptionally beautiful and though hardy to zone 8, may be brought indoors for the winter in colder climates.

Hooded chartreuse flowers in early Summer, similar to Jack-in-the-Pulpit. Into the Fall, bright orange-red berries appear on stalks that last for months. The arrow-shaped foliage becomes veined and marbled, adding further interest, which can persist throughout the Winter, even in snow! A great specimen or accent plant and a good companion planted amongst hostas and astilbes. Arum italicum also makes an excellent and interesting groundcover, but can become invasive in some areas. Asimina triloba Pawpaw Qty $ 4.39 /packet 5 seeds		Originating from the Southeast U.S., Pawpaw (Asimina triloba) is the only temperate (cool-climate) member of a tropical family that includes such delicious fruits as chirimoya, sweetsop and soursop. The fruit is the largest edible fruit native to America, from 3" to 6" long and resembling a short, fat banana or mango. It is very sweet and tastes like bananas with a hint of pineapple and mango. Whereas the flowers are perfect (i.e., each flower is both male and female), two or more plants are needed for fruit production as pollen must come from a second plant to be effective. Asimina triloba is usually 8 to 10 feet tall, and will sucker, forming loose colonies. However, if grown in the open, in a sunny location, the tree will develop a single trunk, often reaching 25 feet -- fruit production is also better. Its small size and attractive cone shape make it suitable for residential landscaping. Fall color, which is usually a soft, butter-yellow, can be outstanding. The tree is virtually disease and pest-free. Zone 4-9
